The aim of the game in Caribbean Stud Poker is to make a better five card poker hand than the dealer. You start the game by placing an Ante bet, and you can also place a Side Bet at the same time, though the side bet is optional. When you have placed your bets and clicked the Deal button, five cards are dealt to you face-up and five cards are dealt to the dealer, but only one of the dealer’s cards is face-up.
At this stage you can choose to Fold your hand and forfeit all of your bets, or you can play the hand you have been dealt by electing to Raise and placing a Play bet that is twice as much as your original Ante bet. When you have made your choice, the dealer’s hand will be revealed.
If the dealer does not have Ace-King or higher, your Ante bet will be paid at odds of 1 to 1 and your Play bet will be refunded. If the dealer does have Ace-King or higher, both hands will be compared and the strongest hand according to normal poker rules will win. Your Ante bet will be paid at odds of 1 to 1 and your Play bet (and any Side bet) will be paid according to the strength of your hand, as follows:
